Job Description
- Record and monitor all direct and indirect costs related to raw materials (cement, aggregates, additives, fuel, etc.), labor, and equipment.
- Compare actual costs to budgeted/standard costs and report variances.
- Prepare cost analysis reports for management on a regular basis.
- Monitor material usage and reconcile with stock records.
- Work closely with the storekeeper to ensure accurate stock valuation.
- Conduct monthly and annual inventory counts.
- Calculate the cost per cubic meter of ready-mix concrete.
- Allocate plant operating costs, transportation, and overhead across production batches.
- Support pricing decisions with updated cost data
- Assist in preparing budgets and cost forecasts for the plant.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend efficiency improvements.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly cost reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (mandatory).
- Experience from 3-5 years in the same field.
- Professional certifications such as CMA, CPA, or ACCA (preferred but not mandatory).
- Proven experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, or in a similar role.
- Industry-specific experience (e.g., manufacturing, contracting, or construction) is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with cost control, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, standards, and financial regulations.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, advanced formulas, data analysis).
- Ability to prepare cost sheets, job costing, and project profitability reports.
- Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Budget preparation and cost control monitoring.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
