Job Description
Leadership & Management:
- Reviewing the organizational structure of the engineering management, including task distribution, responsibilities, and defining the functional relationships between different units.
- Lead and mentor a team of site engineers and technical office engineers, architects, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Develop and implement departmental goals and objectives aligned with the company’s strategic vision.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, design, and execution of engineering projects related to real estate development, including new construction, renovations, and infrastructure improvements.
- Preparing technical studies and budget estimates for new projects.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Technical Oversight:
- Provide technical guidance and support on engineering issues and solutions.
- Review and approve engineering designs, plans, and specifications.
- Follow up on the issuance of shop drawings, whether architectural or construction, from outsourcing offices or if they are implemented internally.
- Oversee the team within the technical office and delegate tasks among team members.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and government regulations and industry standards.
Budget & Resource Management:
- Develop and manage departmental budgets and allocate resources effectively.
- Monitor expenditures and ensure cost-efficiency in all engineering projects.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the engineering department.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact between the engineering management and other internal departments, clients, and external partners.
- Prepare and present reports, proposals, and status updates to senior management and stakeholders.
Job Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural). A Master’s degree or professional engineering license (PE) is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in engineering, with at least 10 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Proven experience in managing engineering projects within the real estate or construction industry.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in engineering software and project management tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PE (Professional Engineer) are a Must.
