Job Description

Overall Purpose of the job: The Chief Cost Control Engineer is responsible for overseeing the cost-control activities for the project.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop the project cost control strategy, plans and procedures.
  • Analyze the actual costs vs. budget for work activities; in order to issue an area of concern report and make recommendations that provide support to construction projects. according to the main criteria segmentation (Material, Sub-contractor, labors and machinery) and suggests ways to increase profitability.
  • Review and validate reports for materials wastage compared with executed quantities in client’s interim payment/Monthly work performed report, with the materials released out of the warehouse to identify the deviation to budget and waste material percentage.
  • Present cost control reports to the team and management to ensure that expenditures are kept within the project budget.
  • Suggest corrective actions for budget deviations.
  • Review the cost allocation on Oracle system, to verify it if there is variance in loading the expenses for work activities as well as notifying the Storekeepers, Technical Office Engineers, and Site Accountants for these errors to prevent its reoccurrence.
  • Based on the above-mentioned data, determine the gross profit of the project and send it to the Cost Control Manager.
  • Commit to the planned trainings and work on delivering the information to the team.
  • Provide regular remarks for the subordinates to guarantee proper workflow.
  • Supervise the team to ensure the completion of work according to the agreed plan.

 

Job Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Arch. Engineering.

•Minimum 8 years of experience in the same field.

•Experience in construction or road or infrastructure works.

•Experience in projects cost control.

•Computer Program: Primavera will be an asset.

•Very Good English Language.

•Excellent Computer Skills.
