Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil BIM Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes and tools, with a preference for experience in precast concrete elements. The role involves developing and coordinating 3D models, creating detailed shop drawings, and supporting design and construction teams to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage detailed BIM models for civil and structural elements, with a focus on precast concrete systems.
- Create accurate 2D shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and erection drawings from BIM models.
- Coordinate and collaborate with architects, structural engineers, MEP teams, and contractors to resolve clashes and design issues.
- Implement and follow BIM standards, guidelines, and project execution plans.
- Maintain model accuracy and integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
- Perform model-based quantity take-offs and support cost estimation processes.
- Assist in the preparation of construction documentation and technical submittals.
- Support digital construction workflows and contribute to continuous process improvements.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings and provide technical support to site teams.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience as a BIM Engineer in the civil/structural domain.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks; experience with Tekla Structures is a plus.
- Strong understanding of precast concrete systems, including fabrication and erection sequencing (preferred).
- Knowledge of BIM coordination, clash detection, and model-based collaboration.
- Familiarity with BIM standards (e.g. ISO 19650, PAS 1192).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with IFC models and cloud-based collaboration platforms (e.g. BIM 360, Trimble Connect).
- Familiarity with local/international precast industry standards and construction practices.
