Job Description
We are building a smart mobility solution in Egypt and looking for a **Senior Laravel Backend Engineer** with deep experience in building scalable APIs, managing infrastructure, and handling DevOps/IT responsibilities.
This is **not a junior role** – you’ll work with an existing codebase and must be ready to enhance, scale, and manage our live system. You’ll take ownership over backend logic, system performance, security, and server infrastructure.
You’ll be part of a company aiming to lead the intelligent transportation market in the region.
**Responsibilities:**
- Develop and maintain backend logic using Laravel.
- Optimize APIs and database queries.
- Manage and monitor Linux-based servers.
- Handle system scaling, performance, and load balancing.
- Apply security practices and fault-tolerance.
- Provide internal IT support (tools setup, systems, access).
- Collaborate with frontend/mobile teams to integrate APIs.
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Laravel and PHP backend systems.
- Strong experience in MySQL, API architecture, caching, and optimization.
- Proficiency in Linux/Ubuntu, SSH, server monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge in security best practices and system hardening.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Docker (a plus).
- Bonus: Experience in smart mobility, Uber-like platforms, or logistics apps.
- Professional attitude, problem-solving mindset, and ability to work independently.
