Job Description

Position: Special Education Teacher with a Focus on InclusivityLocation: Regent international school, Dubai, United Arab EmirateJob Description: Compassionate Special Education Teacher required to work with students with diverse learning needs. Responsibilities include individualized lesson planning, collaboration with parents and therapists, and inclusion advocacy.Qualifications: Bachelor’s in Special Education; state certification in Special Education; experience with inclusive education.Benefits: Competitive salary, ongoing professional development, supportive team.Teacher Duties And ResponsibilitiesCultivate a hunger for knowledge among students and engage them to learnEncourage curiosity and continued improvementHelp set goals for students and work with the class to help them attain these goalsKeep an organized and orderly classroom that promotes creativity and learningPlan curriculum for the school yearCreate and prepare daily lesson plans for appropriate age and learning skill level, making adjustments when neededCreate and/or print out instructional material for classroom useLead daily lesson plans, teaching the intended subject matter and answering any questions the students may haveKeep track of role and ensure students are attending and participating in classAssign work by means of in-class worksheets, projects, homework, presentations, reports, etc.Assess performance by grading work and giving testsKeep grading book and submit at end of each termHelp students one-on-one who need extra assistanceEnforce administration and school-wide policiesSet classroom rules and expectationsDiscipline students (according to school policy) when necessaryBe active in the school community and eventsParticipate in teaching training sessions and stay up to date with current teaching methods, practices and any new knowledge in your fieldReport to school board committeesSet up and lead teacher/parent student-assessment conferencesTeacher Requirements And QualificationsA compassionate and confident leaderVery strong verbal and written communication skillsClear, consistent and respectful communicatorAttentive listenerCreative and able to create a fun learning environmentHigh level of patience with experience as a mediatorKeeps a positive attitude and can control emotionsEfficient time managementAbility to take on many tasks at once and prioritize them by importance and relevanceGood at problem-solving quickly under pressureExcellent collaboratorStrong disciplinarianOutstanding critical thinking abilitiesStrong organizational skillsGood classroom managementProficient in the subject(s) you will be teachingBachelor’s Degree in Teaching, Education or related subject (for Kindergarten, Elementary and High Schools)State-issued teaching certificationRelevant experience (student teaching)Continued Education Programs (if required by state)Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office suiteExperience with web programs like Blackboard or other online course management, assignment-posting systemsPass a state-enforced background checkUpstanding ethics and integrityA passion for learning and sharing your knowledge with others
