Job Description

  • Compliance Systems and Controls
  • Develop and enforce adequate legal and compliance frameworks and controls to manage and mitigate significant areas of risk, particularly relating to public tenders and contracts.
  • Maintain an updated understanding of applicable laws and regulations and ensure all business processes comply with these requirements
  • Committee Leadership and Development
  • Assist in the creation of a Risk, Compliance, & Audit Committee, including defining its charter, scope, and remit.
  • Organize and lead regular committee meetings to address various compliance issues and ensure continuous monitoring and review of compliance protocols.
  • Training and Guidance
  • Conduct compliance training sessions for employees to ensure widespread understanding and adherence to internal policies and legal standards.
  • Provide ongoing advice and guidance to the executive and operational teams on compliance matters, including potential risks and compliance strategies.
  • Public Procurement and Tender Participation
  • Oversee the compliance of all activities related to public tenders, ensuring they meet the stringent requirements of public procurement laws in Egypt.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for engaging with public entities, focusing on transparency and accountability.
  • External Counsel and Partnerships
  • Liaise with external counsel and advisors to ensure that the organization receives timely and effective guidance on compliance and legal issues.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to maintain compliance with all external requirements.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, accounting or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a compliance role within a sizable organization, preferably with exposure to public sector dealings.
  • Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory environment in Egypt, particularly regarding public procurement and corporate compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining strong relationships both internally and externally.
