As an English Language Editor, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all written content produced by our medical writing team is linguistically flawless. You will be responsible for proofreading and editing documents to correct grammar, improve coherence, and enhance readability. Your expertise in the English language will ensure that our publications meet the highest standards of clarity, consistency, and overall quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proofread and edit medical manuscripts, research papers, reports, and other written documents to correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors.
- Ensure coherence, consistency, and clarity in all documents.
- Refine and enhance the overall readability of the text, ensuring that it adheres to the highest standards of English language quality.
- Collaborate closely with medical writers to understand the context and content of documents, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement.
- Maintain consistency in terminology, style, and tone across all documents.
- Ensure that documents are formatted correctly and meet the guidelines of target journals or publications.
- Work efficiently to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Writing of medical blogs for our website and social media.
- Handle translation duties that arise from different department.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience in editing, proofreading, or language editing, preferably in the medical or scientific field.
- Exceptional command of the English language, with strong grammar and editing skills.
- Ability to understand complex scientific and medical terminology.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with style guides such as AMA, APA, or Chicago is a plus.
