Job Summary:
The Audiovisual (AV) Pre-Sales Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and support to the sales team and customers during the pre-sales phase. This role involves understanding customer requirements, designing AV solutions, preparing technical proposals, and ensuring that solutions meet customer needs and industry standards. The Pre-Sales Engineer plays a crucial role in driving sales by leveraging technical knowledge to support sales efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Sales Support:
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and provide technical expertise.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine customer needs and project scope.
- Design and propose AV solutions, including video conferencing systems, digital signage, sound systems, and other AV equipment.
Solution Design and Proposal:
- Prepare detailed technical proposals, including system design, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Develop and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to customers.
- Create and review technical drawings, schematics, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
Customer Engagement:
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers during the pre-sales phase.
- Address customer inquiries, provide technical guidance, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with the sales team to develop sales strategies and support business development efforts.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including engineering, project management, and procurement, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide technical training and support to sales team members.
Market and Product Knowledge:
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and competitive products in the AV market.
- Provide feedback to product development teams based on customer needs and market trends.
- Continuously improve technical knowledge and skills through training and professional development.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, proposals, and project specifications.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on pre-sales activities, customer feedback, and market insights.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Pre-Sales Engineer or in a similar technical sales support role, preferably in the AV industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of AV systems, including video conferencing, digital signage, sound systems, and related equipment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand and convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in CAD software, CRM systems, and MS Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
