Job Description

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Egypt

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled accountant to join our team in Egypt. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting activities of the company, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards, and supporting the sales coordination and procurement activities of the company. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, a minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, and possess excellent English and Arabic speaking skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and update accounting records, including invoicing, credit control, receivable follow-up, and inventory tracking and maintenance.

Prepare and file VAT returns, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.

Manage petty cash and ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of all cash transactions.

Conduct procurement activities, including liaising with vendors and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures. 

Coordinate with Head Office for vendor payment as per agreed payment terms.

Support Country Manager and Head Office regarding Sales coordination activities 

Prepare financial analysis and office for the head office and the Country Manager.

Conduct month-end and year-end close processes and ensure accuracy of accounting records.

Support the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.

Provide support to other departments as required.

Key Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting.

Strong understanding of local tax regulations and accounting principles.

Experience with invoicing, credit control, receivable follow-up, and inventory tracking and maintenance.

Knowledge of VAT filing and other tax-related matters.

Experience in conducting procurement activities.

Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic, both written and verbal.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.

Job Requirements

  • Work experience as an Accountant
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
  • Experience with general ledger functions
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
  • BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
  • Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus
