Job Description
Network Security Engineer to assist in designing and implementing Network & security solutions, taking into consideration all available technologies and business requirements, troubleshoot Network & security environment problems, and provide technical support.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Provide network security operation support, problem determination, troubleshoot network incidents, and escalate to vendor and management accordingly.
- Assist and provide on system design and planning.
- Analyzing network security threats and developing security solutions to mitigate risk.
- Provide Security assessments for new and existing customers if needed.
- Create and maintain documentation related to configuration, policies, and procedures.
- Developing security policies and procedures that align with industry standards and best practices.
- Installing and configuring firewalls, and other security technologies.
- Maintaining an inventory of software patches for all networked systems and updating them regularly to address vulnerability issues.
- Managing security operations by monitoring security events and identifying potential security risks.
- Understand audit process, compliant requirement, and coordinate in audit exercise.
- Support handover and knowledge transfer for newcomers.
- Strong Analytical thinking, Conversational English and Business Writing Skills.
Job Requirements
Must Have Technical/Professional Qualifications:
- Must be able to solve highly technical complex problems.
- Hands-on, technical experience with security solutions and technical knowledge of mainstream operating systems and wide range of security technologies such as Firewalls, IPS, VPN, 2FA, WAF, PAM, IAM, Web Proxy and email Gateway, and end-point solutions preferred.
- Ability to assess network activity and system configuration for anomalous activity to determine system security status.
- Has keen knowledge and understanding of current cyber threats.
- Good working knowledge of: TCP/IP, common network traffic, network protocols, LAN, WAN, and Wireless technologies Security best practices, IT Security framework, IT security incident response and IT Security assessment.
- ITIL Foundation and service management background.
- Able to work out of business hours.
- Exceptional customer support skills.
- Wireshark Analysis.
- Skill in working independently.
Core Competencies, Knowledge and Experience:
- Firewall technology experience with a clear understanding of Networking, VPN & security technologies.
- Ethernet, Wireless, and TCP/IP configuration and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in penetration testing, networking, system administration, and operating systems.
- A strong understanding of the hardware infrastructure, DNS (domain name system), routers, firewall systems, and cloud computing applications are required.
- F5, Paloalto and FortiGate firewalls configurations and troubleshooting.
