Job Summary:
The Head of the Engineering Sector oversees all engineering-related functions, including construction, design, technical office operations, and quality assurance. This role ensures the effective execution of engineering projects, maintains high design and construction standards and drives continuous improvement across technical and quality domains.
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Technical Documentation: Lead the preparation of technical and contract documentation for tenders, proposals, and project execution.
- Value Engineering: Assist projects with value engineering initiatives to optimize costs and improve efficiency without compromising quality.
- Resource Allocation: Develop and implement resource allocation strategies to ensure that multi-disciplinary teams are effectively utilized and aligned to project goals.
- Coordination: Ensure efficient coordination between project sites, clients, and internal departments to facilitate project progress.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, schedules, and reports.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure that all materials, workmanship, and procedures meet required specifications.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for engineering projects, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost-effective solutions.
- Financial Planning: Oversee project-related financial planning and ensure that projects are executed within budget without compromising quality.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present project updates, technical reports, and performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, or related field); Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
- From 15 -20 years of experience in engineering management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing multiple engineering functions
- Familiarity with local and international engineering standards and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of construction industry standards, regulations, and best practices
- Proven experience in project management and delivering large-scale engineering projects.
- Excellent use of MS Office & MS project.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- PMP certification
