Network Security Engineer

Job Summary: The Network and Security Engineer will design, implement, and manage secure network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and protection against security threats. This role requires in-depth knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security measures to safeguard the organization’s data and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement secure network infrastructure to support business operations.
• Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, and other security appliances.
• Monitor network performance and security systems for potential vulnerabilities, threats, and intrusions.
• Perform risk assessments and security audits to identify areas for improvement.
• Implement security measures such as encryption, access control, and multi-factor authentication.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure systems are secure and meet performance standards.
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, load balancers, and other network devices.
• Manage the configuration and administration of network monitoring tools and logging systems.
• Respond to security incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
• Train staff on cybersecurity practices and provide user support when needed.
• Stay updated with the latest security trends, tools, and technologies, and recommend upgrades or changes to the network.
