Job Description
- Managing a team of architects and designers, providing them with direction on projects
- Providing leadership to the design team, collaborating with other members of the team to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Coordinating with clients to determine design requirements, including reviewing sketches and models with the client
- Developing plans for new construction projects, remodeling existing structures, or improving the functionality of existing space
- Communicating with contractors about construction progress and potential problems that may arise during the building process
- Reviewing architectural plans for compliance with local building codes and zoning regulations
- Identifying ways to improve the design of a structure based on environmental factors such as light and wind exposure
- Meeting with contractors to discuss construction details such as materials to be used and scheduling issues
- Creating diagrams, renderings, and other visual representations of architectural designs
