Job Description
- Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular cost reports to support management decision-making.
- Monitor and review inventory transactions, ensuring accurate valuation and reconciliation with financial records.
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, processes, and controls to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and engineering teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
- Prepare detailed variance analyses, investigating discrepancies between actual and standard costs.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights on cost drivers and trends.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations related to cost accounting.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to cost accounting and financial reporting.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations regarding cost accounting matters.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance cost accounting procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3 to 7 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and standard costing.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and implement best practices.
