Job Description

  • Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular cost reports to support management decision-making.
  • Monitor and review inventory transactions, ensuring accurate valuation and reconciliation with financial records.
  • Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, processes, and controls to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Collaborate with production, procurement, and engineering teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
  • Prepare detailed variance analyses, investigating discrepancies between actual and standard costs.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights on cost drivers and trends.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations related to cost accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to cost accounting and financial reporting.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations regarding cost accounting matters.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance cost accounting procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and standard costing.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and implement best practices.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity of financial information.
