Job Description
- A well experience Cotton Commercial Director with 10 – 15+ years specialized experience and proven track record, is needed for a local state owned company with international cotton trading activity, dealing in import (of short staple) and export (of long staple) cotton.
- The candidate should be experience in cotton trading both locally and internationally, and aware of both current and potential import and export foreign markets, as well as local market needs and capabilities, especially in light of the state owned ginning, spinning and weaving industry reform program.
- The mandate of the commercial director starts at putting together a commercial strategy for the company, to expand its market share, and regain its reputation as the market leader in the trading and ginning activity, and extends to developing the tactics and using all tools for the strategy execution, via a comprehensive action plan, including building the capacity of the team to ensure a very successful and profitable implementation.
- The company is the result of the successful merger of nine state owned ginning, fuming, trading and warehousing companies (with financial intra settlements and financial statements cleaning up). In the area of ginning, the company is concluding the commissioning of six state of the art ginning mills well spread among governorates, and has recently established a joint venture with the private sector for cotton seed oil squeezing and production.
- The company is also a pioneer in experimenting planting short staple cotton in Egypt, needed for local industry input needs, to substitute large volumes of imports.
Job Requirements
- A well experience Cotton Commercial Director with 10 – 15+ years specialized experience and proven track record
- Interested candidates should enjoy very good English language (besides Arabic of course).
- Above basic French is a plus.
- Excellent Microsoft office computer skills. Atos based ERP knowledge is a plus.
- Required personal skills include; reform leadership, ability to manage change, business development and ability to establish new partnerships and open new markets, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
