Job Description

  1. Develop and implement production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity.
  2. Coordinate with design, procurement, and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources.
  3. Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as necessary to meet deadlines.
  4. Lead and mentor the production planning team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  5. Conduct regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  6. Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  7. Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.
  8. Collaborate with the procurement team to forecast material needs based on production schedules.
  9. Ensure that all production processes comply with quality standards and company policies.
  10. Work closely with the quality control team to identify and address any quality issues that arise during production.
  11. Identify areas for process improvement within the production planning workflow.
  12. Implement best practices in production planning and scheduling to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  13. Prepare and present regular reports on production planning metrics, including efficiency rates, inventory levels, and production timelines.
  14. Analyze data to identify trends and make informed decisions regarding production strategies.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  2. 7 to 10 years of experience in production planning or operations management, preferably in the furniture design and production industry.
  3. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  4. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  5. Proficient in production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  6. Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  8. Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
  9. Knowledge of CAD software and furniture design processes.
  10. Familiarity with ERP systems.
