Job Description
- Develop and implement production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as necessary to meet deadlines.
- Lead and mentor the production planning team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to forecast material needs based on production schedules.
- Ensure that all production processes comply with quality standards and company policies.
- Work closely with the quality control team to identify and address any quality issues that arise during production.
- Identify areas for process improvement within the production planning workflow.
- Implement best practices in production planning and scheduling to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Prepare and present regular reports on production planning metrics, including efficiency rates, inventory levels, and production timelines.
- Analyze data to identify trends and make informed decisions regarding production strategies.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in production planning or operations management, preferably in the furniture design and production industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficient in production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of CAD software and furniture design processes.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
