Job Description
- Design and optimize chemical processes used in manufacturing electrical components (e.g., coatings, resins, dielectrics, and electrolytes).
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to integrate chemical processes into product development.
- Ensure chemical processes comply with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and root-cause analysis for production issues related to chemical formulations or reactions.
- Select and test materials (e.g., polymers, insulating compounds) to ensure suitability for electrical applications.
- Develop and improve surface treatment processes (e.g., electroplating, anodizing, etching).
- Monitor process KPIs and drive continuous improvement for quality, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
- Guide junior engineers and technicians, and support knowledge sharing across departments.
- Document procedures, process parameters, and test results as per regulatory and internal quality standards.
- Coordinate with R&D on pilot trials and new technology integration.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in chemical or process engineering, preferably within an electrical/electronics manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of chemical processes used in electrical component manufacturing (e.g., PCB fabrication, polymer insulation, battery chemistry).
- Familiarity with ISO, RoHS, REACH, and other industry compliance standards.
- Proficient in simulation and process design tools (e.g., Aspen Plus, ChemCAD, MATLAB).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
