Job Description

Job Overview

  • This role is reporting to the Supply Chain manager and is responsible for supporting the company by delivering savings, improving local supplier performance. the local procurement officer will ensure that goods and services sourced locally deliver value, risks are managed, and best practices standard are met. This role is based in the company’s factory and reports to the supply chain manager at our Cairo head – office.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Engage and validate stakeholder business needs/requirements, conduct sourcing activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Manage an individual category (Local Suppliers) to deliver savings through negotiations.
  • Create sourcing plans and execute of sourcing activities including planning and negotiation of contracts and tender management.
  • Build and maintain relationships with both local suppliers and internal stakeholders (Quality, Production, Sales and Marketing, Finance) to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Update ERP system (SAP) with supplier information – price, lead time, MOQ, etc.
  • Conduct Logistics activities for all procured goods and services in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers in cooperation with Supplier Quality and Engineering specialists.
  • Work closely with the Supply Chain Planning Specialist, Quality Assurance Manager to ensure locally sourced products and services are meeting requirements.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • A Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or any related field.
  • +5 years in a similar local procurement role within a manufacturing business.
  • Proven experience in end-to-end procurement process (Supplier evaluation, market analysis, planning...etc).
  • Knowledge in SAP and operation purchasing is essential.

 

Skills: 

  • Fluent in English.
  • Good knowledge of law/regulations with respect to Taxation and local purchasing.
  • Capacity to coordinate local transport and logistics activities
  • Advanced user in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License and owns a car.
