Job Description
Responsible for implementing the developmental designed program/ plan for young children. Nurtures children, provides meals, crafts and instructions. Ensures children are clean and kept safe. Using a variety of educational methods, including storytelling, games and crafts that will help a child develop vocabulary, learn social skills and grasp a variety of educational and behavioral concepts.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing and organizing a variety of learning material and resources and making imaginative use of resources.
- Teaching basic skills such as colors, shapes, numbers and letter recognition, personal hygiene, proper eating habits and social skills.
- Encouraging children’s mathematical and creative development through stories, songs, games, drawing, dancing and imaginative cooking/ baking.
- Serving meals and snacks in accordance with nutritional guidelines.
- Supervising, evaluating and planning assignments for teacher assistance.
- Attending and participating in meeting with the management to discuss children’s needs and programs.
- Ensuring all classroom equipment, materials and suppliers are clean, well maintained and safe at all times.
- Ensuring children are supervised all the time. (i.e. inside and outside the classroom).
- Comforting children in times of need and building up their esteem.
- Establishing routines and implementing positive discipline when required.
- Observing, evaluating and recording each child’s progress, performance, behavior and social development.
- Keeping parents informed of their child’s progress on a weekly basis.
Job Requirements
- High School education with bachelor degree.
- Not less than 5 years of experience in a preschool or nursery.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent teaching skills.
- Creative skills.
- Ability to inspire and enthuse children.
