Job Description
Role Objective:
Responsible to monitor and repair the Network to ensure smooth availability and stability of company’s network performance and internet service delivery to the customer.

Main Responsibilities
- 24x7 Network real-time monitoring for all Etisalat ISP Network Alarms, Events and Faults
- Monitor Etisalat ISP Network Traffic utilization
- Monitor Etisalat ISP Network Elements/Environmental Alarms and take the proper action with concerned teams
- Interfacing with Telecom Egypt to solve Transmission Link failures and TE Power Failures.
- Establish L1 support Function that deals and attempts to remedy TTs on Etisalat ISP Network that have been appeared
- Escalating Cases that need involvement of Back Office level and follow-up on the progress
- Follow and respect all Pre-defined times (such as monitoring response, investigation, resolution) relevant to each Fault Management functions and sub-functions as per process KPIs
- Implement End-to-End Network TT management function (starting from problem appearance till final service restoration)
- Keeping all stakeholders notified of any experienced Network Failure
- Follow T.T flow to ensure resolution within SLA
- Act as single point of contact for Network Operations Center and it is the gateway for all Network TTs
- Create Network Incidents and execute 1st level troubleshooting either to forward to next level or restore the problem.
- Provide incident management service support for all enterprise running/planned services & take proper actions to handle, resolve & dispatch smoothly to the next level supporting functions.
- Interface with customer care layers for notifying, receiving, updating & resolving enterprise incidents. Interface direct with enterprise customers in case of troubleshooting fault.
- Escalate repetitive network tickets to Problem Management function for further handling
- Execute 1st level troubleshooting either to forward to next level or restore the problem
- Interface direct with onsite resources
- Handle all faults that need field intervention & takes the proper actions to resolve & dispatch smoothly to the next level supporting functions
- Control the change process end to end.
- Update the network information on configurations.
- Generate regularly reports about change.
- Change Implementation for some Network Related Activities like ((BW Upgrade, Traffic Transfer...)
- Add Required Configuration to new RFS DSLAMs/Cards after Acceptance Phase
- Add Tx Configuration for Tx Links during installation Phase
- Create ADSL Service Traffic Path through Core Network for new RFS sites
- Communicate new network elements with relevant NMS
- Assigning & Guiding Field Maintenance in site till problem restoration
- Interfacing with Concerned Team regarding TE related issues like access Site Permissions after Working hours
- Monitor the Network Equipment’s performance using special tools to be updated with the network status for prompt actions Performance reporting and performance report administration.
- Creating Network KPIs Reports (Loss-Delay-jitter- ..) and share with Operation , Planning and Quality teams for further capacity decision.
- Monitor Etisalat ISP Network Traffic utilization
- Network performance stats should be monitored and any abnormality should be escalated
- Provide Major tools used by performance monitoring functions
- Collection and administration of performance data
- Update Etisalat ISP Monitoring Tools & NMSs by New RFS Devices & Transmission Links
- Create Connectivity Graphs for fixed Network Sites with cooperation with Back Office
- Update Etisalat ISP Missing links & VLAN Graphs on CACTI Graphing Tool
- Review & Update Etisalat ISP NMSs to follow agreed Naming Convention
- Review & Cleanup Etisalat ISP NMSs (Alarms -Unused Configuration - Unused devices & Links)
- Record Transmission Data to Network Database
- Keeping daily Configuration Backups of equipment
Job Requirements
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor Degree in communications or computer science.
- ITIL background.
- Solid background in Networking – Certified CCNA
- Good experience in Ethernet over SDH Technology.
- Good experience with reputable vendors working in this industry
- Fluent in Arabic and English languages (Reading, Writing & Oral).
- Must be well spoken, outgoing, organized, detailed orientated, dependable and flexible
- Passion for teamwork, continuing education and problem solving
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Certified CCNP
- Is open to ideas
- Explains the process, implications and rationale for change to those affected by it.
