Job Summary:

A director of engineering plans and directs all aspects of engineering activities and projects within an organization. You Supervise both the strategic and the technical role inside the company. The strategic aspect includes setting goals for the team, hiring engineers and prioritizing projects. The technical aspect is about getting actively involved in developing new products, identifying requirements and setting timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in determining the annual goals of the company and transmits them to his subordinates, and also provides the necessary proposals and recommendations to his superiors according to the work requirements
  • Prepare the regulations, policies and operational procedures of his administration and submit them to his line manager for approval and inclusion within the sector policies, and announce them and transmit them to his subordinates in a permanent and clear manner. He also makes sure that the means of safety, safety and occupational health in the administration and sites are applied and takes the necessary measures in accordance with the announced policies.
  • Reviews the investigator's reports against the scheme, analyzes the reasons for the deviation, and submits his proposals for corrective actions and submits them to his line manager for approval.
  • Reviews the administration’s budget and submits it to his line manager for approval, monitors expenditures to ensure permanent compliance with it, monitors any deviations, and directs commitment to the approved budget
  • Reviews the equipment lease plan and negotiates the best rates and terms of payment and supply. Reviews contracts with suppliers and coordinates with financial management settlements
  • Reviews the plan of needs of spare parts and ensures that they are supplied with the required specifications, and coordinates with the stores to ensure the balances that achieve compliance with the schedule of the operational plan.
  • Participates in preparing the operating and maintenance budget, fixed assets and spare parts from purchasing and manufacturing of sites according to the needs at the end of the fiscal year and submits them to his line manager for review and approval and monitors expenditures to ensure permanent compliance with them and monitors any deviations and directs commitment to the approved budget
  • Approves preventive/periodic maintenance plans for sites and ensures compliance with them both inside/outside the company according to the set plan. A general report of what has been accomplished is prepared and submitted to the upper management
  • Monitors and inspects farm representatives and ensures compliance with the approved management policies and procedures and the implementation of the approved quality system, as well as ensuring the efficiency of dealing with sudden breakdowns and periodic maintenance. Reviews reports on the performance on his line manager.
  • Monitors the performance of the electricity and irrigation systems in all sites to ensure compliance with management policies and procedures, and the operational plan's commitment to the required quality, as well as to ensure the efficiency of dealing with sudden breakdowns and periodic maintenance
  • Review all contracts for the provision of management services and ensures their consistency with the approved strategy for the sector and the company. It sets a proposal for operating hour rental rates for the various machines and submits them to his line manager for approval.

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Work experience as a director of engineering or in a similar senior-level position at an engineering department is a must
  • Extensive experience with Agriculture machinery and Agriculture development is a must
  • 15-20 years of experience as senior level position in the agriculture field or relevant
  • Excellent understanding of agriculture of a large scale 
  • Leadership abilities with a strategic mind
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to travel when needed .
  • BSc/MSc in Engineering, or relevant field
