Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join and lead our dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, including month-end and year-end closing, tax filing, accruals, and deferral booking. A strong understanding of German GAAP (HGB) and proficiency in DATEV or Zoho Books are essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Month-end and Year-end Closing:
  
  
  • Oversee the entire month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements in accordance with HGB.
  • Reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary data and information for closing procedures.
  • Prepare and file corporate tax returns and other relevant tax documents.
  • Coordinate with tax authorities and external tax advisors as needed.
• Accruals and Deferral Booking:
  
  
  • Accurately record accruals and deferrals based on accounting principles and company policies.
  • Analyze and evaluate complex accounting transactions to determine proper accounting treatment.
  • Maintain supporting documentation for all accrual and deferral entries.
• DATEV/Zoho Books:
  
  
  • Effectively utilize DATEV and Zoho Books to manage accounting processes and generate financial reports.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity within the system.
  • Train and support other team members in using DATEV/Zoho Books.
• Financial Analysis:
  
  
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential issues.
  • Prepare financial reports and analysis for management.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
