Job Description
• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in inventory control, warehousing, or stock management.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS) to analyze stock levels, turnover rates, and discrepancies. Ability to generate and interpret key reports.
• Inventory Methodologies: In-depth understanding of key concepts:
o Stocktaking: Leading cyclic (perpetual) and full annual stock counts.
o Audit Procedures: Experience with internal and external audit processes for inventory.
o FIFO (First-In, First-Out) & FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out): Critical for food, pharmaceutical, and other perishable goods.
o SKU Management: Understanding of product identification systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain Inventory Accuracy: Ensure the physical stock matches the system records at all times. This is the primary goal.
• Lead Stock Counts: Plan, organize, and execute scheduled stock counts (cyclic and full-year-end) and investigate any variances.
• Investigate Discrepancies: Root cause analysis for stock variances, damage, or shrinkage. Implementing corrective actions to prevent future issues.
• Manage System Data: Oversee the accuracy of item master data in the system (e.g., SKUs, descriptions, bin locations)
• Reporting: Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on key metrics like stock levels, turnover, aging stock, and accuracy rates.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to inventory processes to increase efficiency and reduce errors.

• Meticulous Attention to Detail: The role is built on spotting tiny discrepancies in vast amounts of data and physical goods.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Must be able to analyze data to identify trends in shrinkage, pinpoint causes of errors, and develop practical solutions.
• Leadership & Supervision: Experience leading a team of stock counters or junior controllers. Ability to train, mentor, and delegate tasks.
• Communication Skills: Must effectively communicate with warehouse operatives, managers, procurement teams, and finance departments. Need to explain complex discrepancies clearly.
• Proactive & Hands-On: Not just an office-based role. Must be willing to be on the warehouse floor, checking bins and investigating issues physically.
• High Integrity: Responsible for valuable company assets. Trustworthiness is non-negotiable, especially when investigating loss or damage.
• Resilience & Stress Management: Ability to work under pressure, especially during peak seasons, year-end counts, and audit periods.
