Job Description
- Oversee and manage all tax compliance activities for the business unit, ensuring adherence to local, regional, and international tax regulations.
- Prepare, review, and file accurate tax returns, including corporate income tax, VAT, and other applicable taxes.
- Conduct detailed tax analysis and provide recommendations to optimize tax positions and minimize liabilities.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment with tax requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and government authorities during audits and inspections.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company’s operations and financial statements.
- Develop and implement robust tax policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- Support the finance team in month-end and year-end closing processes related to tax provisions and disclosures.
- Provide training and guidance to junior accountants and other staff on tax matters and best practices.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management on tax issues, risks, and planning opportunities.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years and maximum of 7 years of progressive experience in tax accounting, preferably within the manufacturing or cement industry.
- Proven expertise in Egyptian tax laws and regulations, including corporate income tax, VAT, and withholding tax.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex tax codes and apply them to business scenarios.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing and reviewing tax returns and supporting documentation.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tax-related processes.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, office-based environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience in liaising with tax authorities and handling tax audits.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on tax legislation.
