Within the Program Year (5), there are several important activities that SEFPP is engaged in to achieve desired outcomes and goals. Social Behavior Communication Change (SBCC) unit as part of SEFPP team is focusing on increasing the awareness and change the behaviors of the populations by creating creatives campaigns related to family planning through social media, this will open a channel with the community especially youth to change their mindsets and behaviors towards family planning issues and change the common myths and misconceptions related to family planning methods.
The purpose of this consultancy is to:
- Enhance the MOHP/ FP sector online presence by building their capacity on how to best utilize digital platforms including digital strategies, content creation, design and management. S/he will work closely with media departments of MOHP/ FP Sector to optimize social media profiles to promote targeted FP awareness messages.
- Focus on the popularization of media role in addressing population issues. Social media platforms are currently the modern communication means; hence, it is important for MOHP/FP sector to acquire the skills to be able to use these platforms effectively (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). Additionally, with the global pandemic, MOHP/FP sector has faced huge challenges in reaching people and raising awareness using the traditional means of communication, this entails the need to develop NPC staff capabilities to cope with the change and be able to connect with individuals virtually. So, social media is considered a key to reach young women and men and can influence how personal decisions are made in this age group, which are the main target group for family planning programs.
Consultant Tasks and Duties
- Conduct a series of workshop(s) to introduce the social media concept & identify MOHP FP/sector.
- Build social media strategy through platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification;
- Support implementation of a social media strategy for the MoHP in order to raise its digital profile;
- Enhance the MoHP/FP sector online presence by conducting a workshop to strengthening the capacity of social media team;
- Select appropriate communication materials to publish on social media platforms;
- Regularly come up with ideas for engaging social media content and campaigns, working with relevant teams to assess feasibility;
- Identify new digital tools and best practices and how these can be most effectively applied to deepen engagement with the target audience;
- Develop a monitoring & evaluation plan to measure and report on social media effort;
- Liaise and work with media team to produce visuals, and apps for digital campaigns;
- Update old content, and develop new, web-friendly content as per agreed timeline;
- Train the media team on basics of design using canva to create social media graphics.
- Track and report on all site metrics;
- Train the media team on all technical areas related to social media strategy for sustainability;
- Support the media team when required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mass communication, media or related field
- 5+ years of experience in working in digital media field.
- Previous experience in presenting, moderating and reporting on public sessions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic &English language.
- Ability to develop professional materials in both Arabic & English language.
- Ability to moderate and facilitate workshops & meetings.
- Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge.
- Previous experience with Ministry of Health and Population is an asset..
