About the Job

The international cooperation project between the Training & Development Center of the Bavarian Employers’ Associations, Germany (www.international.bfz.de) and the Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development, Egypt (http://www.hu.edu.eg/) which will focus on developing the organic agricultural sector in Egypt, is searching for project management assistance and administrative support for the project coordinator. The tasks will include researching, assembling and summarizing scientific information, preparation of presentations, as well as the provision of administrative and logistical services. The related project tasks will focus on the following areas:

  • Providing advice to associations and organizations of organic farming in Egypt
  • Creating a network to implement the project objectives in Egypt
  • Creating an activity plan and a result recording (monitoring) based on the project planning
  • Undertaking mission planning for short-term experts on site
  • Exchang with national and international partners in Egypt
  • Assuring timely administration and financial settlement
  • Creating annual reports (according to the sequa format)
  • Assist the project coordinator in the preparation and management of meetings, including coordinating the development of the agenda, logistical arrangements, drafting of reports and minutes of the meetings, as well as their final dissemination;
  • Assist the project coordinator to monitor and follow up on the various initiatives and important matters under her/his responsibilities;
  • Research and summarize scientific information relevant to the project, e.g. for presentations at scientific meeting and conferences, and prepare PowerPoint presentations tailored for different needs and audiences, and other communication material as may be required;
  • Manage all administrative matters pertaining to the office, including establishing and effective filing system, preparation of travel authorizations; leave requests, and expense claims;
  • Act as the contact person in the office and effectively manage requests for information and queries from within and outside;
  • Draft responses to various official correspondences;
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the project coordinator.
  • Monitor, analyze and synthesize information, emerging and future trends, and advise the project coordinator on substantive developments in the area of agricultural research for development that impact on the agenda of the project;
