Job Description

Egyptian International Food Company, subsidiary of Motaheda-Holding, is one of Egypt's leading domestic refreshment beverage companies, manufacturing, bottling and distributing Tier 2 carbonated soft drinks under it own brand.

Main Job purpose

  • Plans, directs all daily operations of the plant including Soft Drinks Production, Bottling activities, maintenance of production lines and equipment and meeting top quality and performance standards and efficient utilization rate of production lines while respecting production schedule and ensuring industry standard policies and and procedures are implemented and followed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leading and driving all operation activities to ensure consistent levels of production excellence are achieved and sustained whilst maintaining a fully engaged and talented workforce. Provide vision and direction for the entire facility in order to ensure current and future success.
  • Ensure the facility attains/exceeds key performance measures and maximizes profitability by building short and long-term strategies and initiatives to meet customer, market and competitive demands; developing and communicating clear expectations and focus; and providing required resources and guidance as necessary.
  • Reports to the General Manager and part of the Executive Committee including : Sales and Marketing Manager, Finance and Administrative Manager and Supply Chain Manager
  • Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations;
  • Establish and review production schedules for all manufacturing departments to ensure orders are filled on time while operating at the highest efficiency possible;
  • Directs production and ensures cost effectiveness and consistency with prescribed quality, accuracy, and performance standards in order to determine areas of improvement;
  • Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards;
  • Monitor equipment and production line performance to ensure that it is meticulously cared for and always in good working order to avoid lapses in production;
  • Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping;
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results;
  • Maintain efficient Inventory levels to meet daily productions needs and cost requirements;
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus;
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions;
  • Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff;
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime;
  • Commit to plant safety procedures;
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets;
  • Address employees’ issues or grievances and administer collective bargaining agreements;
  • Influence and learn from below;
  • Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts;
  • Act as liaison between plant personnel and corporate by building solid relationships and effectively communicating division and corporate goals within the site, and knowing when and how to communicate plant issues upward;
  • Maintain a competent site leadership team by applying high standards for selection and performance, communicating and delegating key responsibilities, and actively utilizing all performance, development and career tools to their full potential.

Job Requirements

  • Min 10 years of experience
  • BSc degree in Engineering, Commerce, Business Management or related field
  • Min 5 years of proven work experience as a plant manager in Food and Beverage industry, soft drinks production and specifically Carbonated Soft Drinks (CDS)
  • Proven managerial experience
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
