Job Description
Duties:
· Conducts new ingredient and food product research.
· Develops new Flavors.
· Improves product quality or cost by modifying formulation of current products.
· Performs physical and chemical analyses on ingredients and products.
· Develops product, process and/or packaging specifications for our products.
· Studies methods to improve quality of products such as flavor, color, texture, nutritional value, or physical, chemical, and microbiological composition of products.
· Tests new products in the lab and develops processing methods in the pilot plant.
· Performs product scale-up and new product commissioning.
· Sets-up operational process conditions and FSQA parameters for production.
· Conducts operational data analyses to finalize product and process specifications.
Job Requirements
Required qualifications:
- Graduate degree in Chemistry, Biology, food science or other relevant science.
- At least 5 years experience of food industry ( confectionery manufacturing is preferred).
- Work experience in the areas of product/process development, ingredient research, product formulation, specification development, analytical measurements, scale-up, and commercialization.
- Knowledge of food regulations with specific emphasis on nutritional labeling, natural food ingredients, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Demonstrated Product Development Knowledge
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures & equipment: pH-meter, Refractive Index, Brookfield
- Moderate to advance scientific and food technology knowledge
- Good command of English language.
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, power point, word) .
- SAP ERP system user, is a must .
