Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a talented and innovative Chemical Engineer to join our team and play a key role in developing and optimizing the creation of high-quality flavors. In this role, you will utilize your engineering expertise and understanding of chemical processes to design, scale-up, and troubleshoot flavoring production processes. You will also collaborate with flavorists and other scientists to develop new and exciting flavor profiles.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the design and development of new flavoring formulations, translating flavorist concepts into feasible and scalable production processes.
  • Conduct pilot plant trials to test and optimize flavoring production processes, ensuring efficient and consistent product quality.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot technical challenges that arise during flavor production, identifying and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and yield.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and flowcharts.
  • Perform quality control testing on raw materials and finished flavor products to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in flavoring technology and ingredients.
  • Collaborate with flavorists, food scientists, and other technical teams to ensure successful flavor development and production.
  • Manage and maintain laboratory equipment used in flavor analysis and production processes.
  • May participate in sourcing and evaluation of new flavoring ingredients (depending on the company structure).

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • experience in a relevant industry, preferably in food or beverage manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of chemical reaction principles, mass transfer, and unit operations.
  • Experience with pilot plant operations and scale-up procedures is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and laboratory data analysis software (a plus).
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
