Job Description
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, processes, and controls to accurately track and analyze costs throughout the organization.
- Conduct regular cost analyses and provide detailed reports to management, highlighting areas of concern and opportunities for cost savings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and finance, to gather data and insights for cost analysis.
- Perform variance analysis to identify deviations from budgeted costs and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Participate in developing product pricing strategies by providing accurate cost information and analysis.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring that cost assumptions are realistic and aligned with business objectives.
- Monitor inventory levels and valuation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Conduct periodic inventory audits to identify discrepancies and implement measures to improve inventory accuracy.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including the preparation of cost-related journal entries and reconciliations.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in cost accounting, and recommend process improvements accordingly.
Job Requirements
- - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Cost Accountant, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, practices, and standards.
- Proficient in using cost accounting software and ERP systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and modeling.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
