Job Description
- plan, Design, and implement scalable and resilient network architectures to meet business requirements.
- Evaluate and recommend switching hardware, software, networking protocols, and technologies to support organizational needs.
- Deploy and configure networking hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and support network solutions.
- Monitor and optimize network performance, addressing issues related to bandwidth, latency, and reliability.
- Conduct regular performance assessments and implement adjustments as needed.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, collaborating with other IT professionals and vendors as needed.
- Create and maintain documentation for network switch configurations, topologies, and standard operating procedures.
- Keep network diagrams and documentation up to date.
- Implement and enforce network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
- Implement VLANs, spanning tree protocols, and switch port security measures.
- Stay current with security best practices and implement necessary updates and patches.
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and VLANs.
- Stay abreast of emerging networking technologies and industry trends.
- Collaborate with other IT teams, including system administrators and security professionals, to ensure seamless integration of network services.
- Evaluate and manage relationships with network hardware and software vendors.
- Collaborate with vendors for troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Implement changes to the switching environment following established change management processes.
- Coordinate with other IT teams to minimize disruptions during network changes.
Job Requirements
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- Professional certification (e.g. CCNP, CCDP)
- related experience as Network and Security Administrator.
- Solid background in network administration and architecture.
- In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols.
- Familiarity with access control models and network security.
- Knowledge of coding languages for scripting.
- Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
- Solid understanding of network operating systems.
- Sharp troubleshooting skills.
- Organizational and mentoring skills.
