Job Description

  • Starting an initiative called “Mante2ti”, i.e. ”My neighborhood” where members of the surrounding residential area are to be invited to work with WMCF on designing a holistic project for our neighborhood. WMCF worked with the elected board members of each residential block and with change makers and activities who share with us the hope for a better environment.
  • Creating an Eco-Friendly community that produces minimal waste
  • Run the process of turning waste (organic and non-organic) into resources by using the organic to produce compost and the non-organic to be used in up-cycling products.
  • Introduce home composter to households with whom we work to produce their own composts for plantation from organic waste.
  • Help in training young people and community leaders on the management of a greener district, waste separation, and organize awareness sessions with households on waste separation and up-cycling, roof-top gardening, Do It Yourself (DIY) on agriculture equipment (tables for rooftop gardening, bokashi bins, etc)
  • Design a system / process where all community members of one residential area can come together to develop a plan for their surroundings.
  • Offer small agribusiness opportunity for middle class families to make income from recycled organic waste
  • Deal with rice straw, wheat bran, olive waste and sugarcane peels producers to reproduce compost activator powder.
  • Hold public events with the presence of public figures to demonstrate success stories and encourage scaling up my green district initiative.
  • Manage the production of advertisement materials (ex: 2 min- movie on waste and tool kits on organic home plantation).
  • Create an e-manual containing all documentation of the “mante2ti” project that allows replicating this model of community mobilizing towards action in every neighborhood.
  • Cooperate with plastic factories to produce composter bins with our brand.
  • Drive income out of waste and allow in this process for job creation.
  • Enable “The Environment Program” at WMCF to function as a social business
  • Sign MOU’s with Ministry of Environment.
Working Hours divided into:
  • 50% Field work around Maadi area.
  • 50% Office work

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Agricultural / Environmental Engineering with minimum 1 -2 years of experiences in similar project.
Technical/Skills competencies:
  • Experience in Waste Management that include waste separation, Up-cycling and roof-top gardening, Experience in training and organizing awareness sessions, Experience in producing communication materials
Personal Competencies:
  • Punctual; Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, Excellent communicator, Creative, Good advocate, Good facilitator, Take initiatives, and Community services oriented.
