Job Description
- Procurement Planning: Develop and implement procurement strategies and plans to meet the company's operational needs and objectives.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on criteria such as price, quality, availability, and reliability. Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers tosecure favorable terms and conditions.
- Purchase Order Management: Generate purchase orders and manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and stock availability to prevent stockouts and minimize excess inventory. Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to optimize inventory levels and storage space.
- Cost Optimization: Analyze procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Implement cost-saving initiatives such as supplier consolidation, volume discounts, and alternative sourcing strategies.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that purchased goods and services meet the company's quality standards and specifications. Conduct supplier audits and inspections as needed to assess compliance with quality requirements.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement regulations, and legal requirements. Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, such as supply chain disruptions and supplier non-compliance.
- Vendor Performance Evaluation: Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular reviews to assess performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery times, quality, and responsiveness.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare reports and analytics on procurement activities, including spending trends, supplier performance, and cost savings initiatives. Use data and insights to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management roles.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in procurement processes and tools. Familiarity with procurement software systems (e.g., ERP systems, e-procurement platforms) is preferred.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms and conditions with suppliers.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy when managing procurement processes and documentation.
