Job Description
- Develop accurate cost estimates for engineering projects based on project requirements, scope, and specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for cost estimation.
- Analyze project plans, drawings, and specifications to identify materials, labor, and equipment requirements.
- Research and gather data on material costs, labor rates, and subcontractor pricing to ensure cost estimates are comprehensive and competitive.
- Utilize cost estimation software and tools to create detailed cost breakdowns and pricing models.
- Incorporate factors such as inflation, market trends, and regulatory requirements into cost estimates.
- Review and validate cost estimates for accuracy and completeness.
- Present cost estimates to project stakeholders and management, providing clear explanations and justifications for proposed costs.
- Participate in bid reviews and negotiations with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure cost competitiveness and alignment with project budgets.
- Update and revise cost estimates as project details evolve or change, ensuring that estimates remain current and accurate throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with the cost control team to monitor actual project costs and compare them to estimated costs, identifying any variances and providing recommendations for cost optimization.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in cost estimation, preferably in the engineering or construction industry.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- 5 to 12 years of experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
