Job Description
Summary
Cerebrus Corporation is a growing engineering company with a wide range of products and services tailored toward the automation industry.
The company is looking to hire a Planning Engineer who will be responsible for :
Delivery Scheduling and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP)
- Maintain a delivery schedule of all orders required to be shipped out to customers
- Implement production and delivery plans based on the available resources (labor) to ensure orders are fulfilled on time as per the delivery schedule
- Track select repeat orders and provide average quarterly/yearly usage to estimate future order quantities
- Perform manufacturing resource planning to ensure that all subcomponents and packaging are in stock in time for production and shipping activities
- Suggest ordering plans that are optimized for cost and efficiency (regarding price breaks and logistics costs) to ensure the product is manufactured on time
- Create a delivery package, including shipping labels, packaging instructions, and shipping documents for all scheduled deliveries, to be digitally handed off to warehouse personnel
- Develop procedures/forms/software alterations to improve delivery and MRP processes
Vendor Management (Mechanical Engineer)
- Monitoring vendor orders and ensuring on-time delivery, including regular communication with vendors for order status checks
- Ensuring all vendors understand and meet the specifications of the technical data package and any special requirements (e.g. preservation and packaging requirements)
- Reviewing all inspection reports, material reports, and packaging methods to conform to technical/PO requirements prior to approving the release of the product
- Develop technical documents and engineering drawings/3D CAD models to help clarify item technical requirements
- Develop procedures/forms/software alterations to improve vendor management processes
Logistics Management
- Prepare or confirm that all required documents have been received prior to a shipment is released
- Create and maintain logistics records for each shipment from/to vendors, and to customers
- Create and/or review all labels and shipping documents required for easy identification and safety of all products shipped
- Constantly track all shipments have been picked up on time and are on schedule while in transit
- Ensure that the invoice consigner, consignee, description, tariff codes, and values are all correct for proper customs clearance
- Ensure any customs filings were completed as required
- Obtain multiple quotes for shipments (Express, LTL, LCL, FCL, etc.) to compare costs and transit times so that the optimal method can be selected
- Research and implement new methods to find efficiencies and cost savings in the logistics activities
- Develop procedures/forms/software alterations to improve logistics management processes
Job Requirements
Proficiency in the English language
Proficiency in the suite of Microsoft Office software, with an emphasis on Excel
Experience with SAP Business One is a big PLUS
Experience in SolidWorks is a plus
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to develop business professional documents
Proficiency in reading and interpreting 2D engineering drawings
Ability to self-learn, and work independently as well as on a team
Ability to problem solve and formulate optimal solutions in complex situations
