Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for grains, pulses, and sugar, including wheat, corn, lentils, fava beans, chickpeas, soybeans, rice, and refined sugar.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage local and international suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Monitor commodity price trends and global market developments to support procurement decisions.
- Lead contract negotiations for pricing, payment terms, and delivery conditions.
- Coordinate closely with logistics, production, quality, and supply chain departments to meet operational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and internal quality standards.
- Manage inventory levels and delivery schedules to minimize supply chain disruptions.
- Maintain accurate records of supplier performance, cost tracking, and sourcing activities.
- Analyze risks related to commodity markets and recommend mitigation plans.
- Prepare regular reports on sourcing performance, market analysis, and cost-saving initiatives.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, or a related field.
- 10–15 years of experience in commodity sourcing, especially in grains, pulses, and sugar procurement.
- Strong understanding of agricultural and commodity markets and global trading practices.
- Proven negotiation skills and experience managing large-volume supplier contracts.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, and advanced use of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Fluent in English and Arabic.
- Willingness to travel as needed for supplier management and sourcing activities.
