Job Description
- Oversee and manage all customs clearance processes for imported and exported goods, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
- Prepare, review, and submit all necessary documentation required for customs clearance, including invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping agents, and customs officials to facilitate timely and accurate clearance of shipments.
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure prompt delivery and resolve any issues or delays related to customs procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs laws, tariffs, and trade agreements relevant to the company’s operations.
- Advise internal teams on customs requirements and best practices to optimize logistics and minimize costs.
- Handle classification and valuation of goods according to applicable customs codes and regulations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or compliance issues in customs documentation and processes.
- Maintain accurate records of all customs transactions and ensure proper archiving for audit purposes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline customs clearance procedures and enhance operational efficiency.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in customs clearance, import/export operations, or a related logistics role.
- Demonstrated expertise in customs regulations, documentation, and compliance procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for effective coordination with customs authorities and logistics partners.
- Proficiency in using customs clearance software and relevant digital platforms.
- Detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy in documentation and compliance.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex customs regulations and trade agreements.
- Experience working in an office-based environment with cross-functional teams.
