Job Description
- International Import and Shipping Operations Management:
- Coordinate and schedule import shipments from international suppliers.
- Monitor the movement of shipments from origin to arrival, ensuring timely delivery.
- Select the most suitable shipping and freight carriers (sea/air) based on cost, time, and efficiency.
- Manage international shipping documents such as bills of lading, packing lists, and commercial invoices.
- Customs Clearance:
- Prepare and submit all required documentation for customs clearance procedures in Egypt.
- Directly coordinate with customs clearance offices and shipping companies to ensure smooth processes.
- Monitor customs duties and taxes, ensuring timely payment.
- Resolve any issues or inquiries that may arise with customs or other relevant governmental bodies.
- Ensure compliance with all Egyptian and international customs laws and import regulations.
- Supplier and Contract Management (International Aspect):
- Maintain continuous communication with foreign suppliers to follow up on orders and confirm shipping dates.
- Assist in negotiating purchase and shipping terms with international suppliers.
- Periodically evaluate the performance of international suppliers and shipping companies.
- Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all import operations, including shipping documents, invoices, and customs declarations.
- Prepare regular reports on import operations, costs, and delivery times.
- Problem-Solving and Risk Management:
- Identify and manage potential risks associated with international shipping and customs clearance (e.g., delays, damage, unexpected costs).
- Handle and effectively resolve any issues that may arise during the shipping or clearance process.
- Continuous Knowledge and Updates:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest changes in import/export laws, customs regulations, and international trade agreements.
- Possess a good understanding of International Commercial Terms (Incoterms).
Job Requirements
- Previous experience in import/export or international logistics (especially customs clearance).
- Strong knowledge of Egyptian customs laws and regulations.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- Ability to handle minute details and solve problems effectively.
- Proficiency in office software (especially Excel).
