Job Description

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Review and file accurate and timely tax returns (e.g., VAT, income tax, withholding tax).
  • Manage communications with tax authorities for audits, queries, and inspections.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the organization's tax position.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization.
  • Accurately calculate and report tax liabilities in financial statements.
  • Reconcile tax accounts with the general ledger.
  • Lead and supervise the tax team to ensure efficient operations.
  • Train and mentor team members on tax matters and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments on tax-related matters.
  • Liaise with external auditors, consultants, and tax authorities.
  • Identify and mitigate tax-related risks through policies and controls.
  • Streamline tax processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implement technology and tools for better tax management and reporting.
  • Maintain detailed records of tax returns and correspondence.
  • Archive historical tax records for audits and future reference.
  • Provide insights and analysis for budgeting and forecasting.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications like CPA, CMA, or CTA (Certified Tax Advisor) are highly desirable.
  • 7–10 years of experience in tax, accounting, or finance roles.
  • At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial position.
  • Hands-on experience with local and international tax laws and compliance procedures.
  • Proficiency in accounting and tax software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks).
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws, VAT, income tax, withholding tax, and transfer pricing.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial reporting standards.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail and high organizational skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ability to manage relationships with tax authorities and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in preparing for and handling tax audits.
