AXON HealthTech is a leading healthcare technology company specializing in third-party administration (TPA) services, medical discount platforms, and digital healthcare solutions across Egypt and the MENA region. As part of our ongoing expansion, we are seeking a Medical Approval Manager to oversee and optimize the medical pre-authorization and approval processes.
Role Overview
The Medical Approval Manager will be responsible for managing the team handling medical approvals, ensuring medical necessity review, clinical guideline adherence, and timely service authorization. This role ensures quality control, process efficiency, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and manage the medical approvals team, including physicians and medical reviewers.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of pre-authorizations and approvals for medical services.
• Develop, implement, and monitor clinical guidelines and approval policies.
• Collaborate with insurance companies, providers, and internal departments to resolve medical approval issues.
• Review complex cases and make final approval or escalation decisions based on medical necessity.
• Ensure compliance with national healthcare regulations, TPA agreements, and internal policies.
• Train and develop the medical approval team to maintain high service standards.
• Analyze approval data and generate regular performance and quality reports.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the approval workflow and customer satisfaction.
• Participate in audits, client meetings, and regulatory inspections as needed.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or related healthcare field (MD, Pharmacist preferred).
• 5–8 years of experience in medical approvals, pre-authorizations, or clinical claim management.
• Previous leadership or team management experience is a must.
• Deep understanding of medical policies, clinical guidelines, and insurance regulations.
• Strong decision-making skills with attention to detail and clinical accuracy.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in a healthcare TPA, insurance, or hospital environment is a plus.
• Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
