Job Description
Curriculum Leadership
- Design, implement, and review a high-quality, engaging German curriculum aligned with the school's educational goals and international best practices.
- Ensure age-appropriate, progressive language acquisition through differentiated instruction.
- Integrate intercultural understanding and global awareness into German language teaching.
Teaching & Learning
- Deliver outstanding German lessons to primary students.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and language proficiencies.
- Monitor and assess student progress; provide constructive feedback and set targets.
- Use technology and interactive tools to enhance language learning.
Departmental Leadership
- Lead and support a team of German teachers (if applicable).
- Organize regular departmental meetings to share good practices and discuss progress.
- Oversee the development and implementation of schemes of work and lesson planning.
- Mentor new or less experienced language teachers.
Assessment & Reporting
- Develop and implement assessment methods appropriate for the primary level.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting on student performance.
- Analyze student data to inform future teaching and curriculum planning.
Resource Management
- Manage the department’s budget and teaching resources efficiently.
- Organize and promote German-related events (e.g., language days, cultural festivals, competitions).
Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with other language departments and class teachers for cross-curricular opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding students’ progress and school activities.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences, staff meetings, and professional development.
Professional Development
- Stay updated with current methodologies in primary language teaching.
- Attend relevant workshops, conferences, and training opportunities.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in German, Education, or a related field.
- Recognized teaching qualification.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience teaching German at the primary level.
- Proven leadership or coordination experience (e.g., as a subject coordinator or team leader).
- Native or near-native fluency in German and proficiency in English.
