Job Description
- Assist in preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and account reconciliations.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes by compiling financial data and preparing basic reports.
- Process invoices, receipts, payments, and expense claims in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Help prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and update accounting databases and filing systems, ensuring all documentation is organized and accessible.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information and resolve discrepancies.
- Support the audit process by providing requested documentation and assisting with audit queries.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and donor requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accounting processes and efficiency.
Job Requirements
- 0-2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit or agricultural sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new accounting systems and processes.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Above average proficiency in the English Language
