Primary Design Engineer Tech Lead

Purpose of the job

Provide technical leadership in Primary Design department and support the team in delivering high-quality design outputs for Substations projects.

Main Responsibilities

1- Lead and mentor the Primary Design Engineers

• Provide technical guidance and support to the team in designing electrical systems for Substations projects.
• Review the design outputs from the team and ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Ensure timely completion of design deliverables and monitor progress to meet project schedules.
• Identify and address any technical challenges or issues faced by the team.
• Conduct regular trainings and technical sessions for the team to enhance their skills and knowledge.

2- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders

• Work closely with Project Managers, Engineering Managers, and other teams to ensure effective coordination and integration of design activities.
• Participate in design review meetings and provide technical inputs and recommendations.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and vendors to resolve technical issues and ensure alignment with project requirements.

3- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices

• Keep abreast of the latest advancements in primary design technologies and methodologies.
• Continuously improve knowledge and skills through training, workshops, and professional development programs.
• Implement best practices and standards in design processes to ensure high-quality and efficient deliverables.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in primary design for Substations projects.
• Strong technical knowledge and expertise in electrical systems, including protection, control, and substation layout design.
• Proficiency in relevant design software and tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
