Job Description
Fixed Asset Management:
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate recording of acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and impairments.
- Classify assets (land, buildings, machinery, vehicles, etc.) in compliance with company policies and accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
- Conduct periodic physical verification of fixed assets and reconcile with financial records.
Depreciation & Amortization:
- Calculate and record monthly depreciation/amortization for all fixed assets.
- Review asset useful lives and salvage values, recommending adjustments as needed.
Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Tracking:
- Monitor and report on capital projects, ensuring proper capitalization of costs.
- Collaborate with project managers to track WIP (Work in Progress) and transfer assets to operational status upon completion.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Prepare audit schedules and support internal/external audits related to fixed assets.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Generate monthly/quarterly fixed asset reports for management.
Process Improvement:
- Identify inefficiencies in asset tracking and propose automation/process enhancements.
- Implement best practices for fixed asset lifecycle management.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with procurement, project teams, and finance to validate asset purchases and disposals.
- Liaise with tax teams for fixed asset-related tax filings.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5-7 years in fixed asset accounting, preferably in construction, real estate.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs).
- Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and communication skills.
