Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified Orchard Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in orchard management principles and practices, with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining orchards for various types of fruits and nuts.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site assessments to evaluate soil conditions, climate, and water availability
- Develop comprehensive orchard management plans, including planting schedules, irrigation strategies, pest and disease control measures, and pruning techniques
- Oversee the establishment, cultivation, and maintenance of orchards
- Implement sustainable orchard management practices to optimize crop yields, improve soil health, and conserve water resources
- Monitor orchard health and identify and address potential problems, such as pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies
- Stay up-to-date with the latest orchard management technologies and trends
- Provide technical support and guidance to farmers and other stakeholders
- Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs and provide tailored orchard management solutions
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Pomology, or a related field
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in orchard management, preferably in the Middle East or Gulf region
- Proven expertise in all aspects of orchard management, including site selection, planting, pruning, irrigation, fertilization, pest and disease control, and harvesting
- Strong understanding of soil science, plant physiology, and pest and disease management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluency in Arabic and English is a plus
