Job Description
- Develop and implement traffic management plans and strategies to optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion.
- Conduct traffic impact assessments for new developments and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Design and optimize traffic signal timings and phasing plans to maximize efficiency and minimize delays.
- Analyze traffic data and conduct traffic capacity analysis to identify bottlenecks and areas of improvement.
- Collaborate with transportation planners and engineers to develop sustainable transportation solutions.
- Conduct safety assessments and recommend measures to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented traffic management measures and make necessary adjustments.
- Stay updated on the latest traffic engineering practices, regulations, and technology advancements.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and proposals for clients and stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and support to junior traffic engineering staff
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or willingness to obtain within the first year of employment.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in traffic engineering, including experience with traffic impact assessments, traffic signal timing, and capacity analysis.
- Experience using traffic analysis software and CAD software for traffic engineering applications.
- Strong knowledge of transportation engineering principles, practices, and standards.
- Demonstrated experience working on projects with government agencies and transportation planners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
