Job Description
- Conduct feasibility studies and evaluations for road projects.
- Design and plan road alignments, profiles, cross-sections, and intersections.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Supervise road construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control checks during construction.
- Monitor project progress, budget, and adherence to timelines.
- Select appropriate road materials based on project requirements and site conditions.
- Prepare technical specifications for road construction materials and methods.
- Evaluate material testing reports and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Collaborate with material suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Design and implement drainage systems for roads, including culverts and stormwater management facilities.
- Collaborate with environmental consultants to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Conduct safety assessments and recommend improvements for road design and traffic flow.
- Design and implement traffic management plans, including signage and road markings.
- Evaluate and propose measures to enhance pedestrian and cyclist safety.
- Collaborate with transportation engineers and authorities on traffic management issues.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in roads engineering or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of road design principles, codes, and standards.
- Experience in construction supervision and quality control.
- Understanding of road safety and traffic management regulations and practices.
