Job Description
- Review and familiarize with all project contract documents and drawings prior to the commencement of construction activities.
- Conduct daily monitoring and follow-up on the review and approval process of contractor submittals.
- These submittals may include shop drawings, material samples, catalogs, technical data sheets, and RFIs submitted by contractors across various technical disciplines.
- Approve or reject contractor submittals in accordance with the tender drawings and contract specifications.
- Make informed decisions in cases where proposed materials or submitted literature conflict with contract specifications, drawings, BOQ, or cost estimates.
- Provide technical guidance to contractors for resolving issues related to material approval, installation methods, detailing, and other technical challenges.
- Evaluate and provide recommendations on subcontractors, manufacturers, and their technical personnel, in coordination with the owner’s representative and relevant discipline.
- Review, check, and comment on materials and equipment submittals.
- Identify any aspects of the design that may negatively impact the constructability or operability of the project, and suggest alternative solutions during the design review.
- Detect any design elements that may affect the facility's long-term operation and recommend corrective actions at early stages of the construction process.
Job Requirements
- Proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other discipline-specific tools.
- Strong knowledge of applicable Egyptian and international codes and standards.
- In-depth understanding of advanced and contemporary principles and practices within the field.
