Job Description

1. Maintenance Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans for heavy vehicles (trucks, cranes, construction equipment, etc.).
  • Reduce unplanned breakdowns through effective maintenance programs.
  • Ensure all scheduled maintenance tasks are completed on time.

2. Team Management:

  • Supervise, train, and lead a team of mechanics and technicians.
  • Assign tasks and ensure quality and efficiency in maintenance operations.
  • Provide ongoing training to the team on the latest technologies and best practices in heavy vehicle maintenance.

3. Heavy Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance:

  • Oversee the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in heavy vehicles.
  • Ensure repairs are carried out according to industry standards and company policies.
  • Monitor key components such as engines, brakes, hydraulic systems, and tires for optimal performance.

4. Cost Control & Inventory Management:

  • Manage the maintenance budget and control costs related to vehicle repairs and spare parts.
  • Monitor and maintain an inventory of spare parts, oils, and filters to ensure availability when needed.
  • Analyze breakdown costs and propose cost-saving initiatives to improve fleet performance.

5. Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with occupational safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Implement and enforce safety procedures to prevent workplace accidents and injuries.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and transport regulations regarding heavy vehicle maintenance and operation.

6. Performance Analysis & Reporting:

  • Generate and analyze maintenance reports on fleet performance and breakdown trends.
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Provide reports to senior management, including recommendations for future maintenance strategies.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 15+ years of experience in maintenance and fleet management for heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Strong background in diagnostic tools and repair techniques for heavy trucks and equipment.
  • Prior experience leading a maintenance team in a transport, construction, or heavy equipment company.
